Ian has been an adjudicating member of the British and International Federation of Festivals for Music, Dance and Drama for more than 10 years. He is both a singing specialist and general adjudicator. He has worked with a large number of Festival though out the UK and in Ireland and it has always been remarked that he has a wonderful ease and rapport with the competitors, especially the younger ones. He is also happy to fill in time at the end of session with impromptu workshops, these have always been a highlight both for him and the performers.

In 2007 he also trained as an assessor for new applicants to the fedearation.
